I’ve been in a little bit of an intuitive rut the last couple of weeks … so recently I put on one of my favorite intuition movies to snap out of it – The Butcher’s Wife.
It makes me laugh every time I see it — there are believers and skeptics, love triangles, future predictions and nosy neighbors – and it takes place in my hometown of NYC, so that’s a bonus!
Spoiler Alert coming!
The main character, Marina (who calls herself a clairvoyant) has a series of intuitive hits and dreams telling her that true love is on its way … so when the first guy rows up in a boat near her ocean-front home in North Carolina, she jumps in and proposes marriage LOL. Next thing you know, they are back in NYC with Marina giving impromptu psychic readings to the neighbors and her hubbie wondering what he got himself into!
There are so many fun intuition facts in this movie:
- Marina experiences intuition in a bunch of different ways, like most of us do. She sees things from the past and the future (Intuitive Clear Seeing) …. and this is especially strong when she is touching a person or an object (Psychometry). She often says she just knows things (Intuitive Clear Knowing). She also gets intuitive hits in her dreams (Intuitive Future Perception / Pre-Cognition) — this is sooooo common, especially when you are an intuition beginner.
- While the info Marina gets is usually right, her timing is off. This is the part of the movie that always makes me laugh the most – probably because intuition and timing is one of the most difficult intuition lessons I have had to learn. Here’s the thing: Our intuition isn’t always connected to our human sense of time. I find that intuition is very well connected to time when it has to do with keeping us immediately out of harm’s way, otherwise not so much! Sometimes we get intuitive hits that relate to something days, months or years in the future … and sometimes the way we receive or interpret the info is just off – our job is to figure out our own intuition so we don’t do a Marina and just jump in anyone’s boat LOL.
- There are many skeptics in the movie and Marina is called “crazy” more than once … but the skeptics eventually come around, just like most of them do in real life! ☺
